Firefighter Killed

Washington firefighter John Riley looks on as a member of Canton Township Volunteer Fire Department comforts a fellow fireman at the scene of a Sunday morning blaze on Allison Avenue in Washington.

Jeremy Charles LaBella, 27, was killed Sunday, becoming the city's first paid firefighter to die while fighting a fire in the department's 104-year history.

you captured what must have been a very sad and difficult situation. People often forget what firefighters go through.

I think you have shown us a side of the profession (firefighter), most forget about. These men and women risk their own lives everytime the alarm goes off. We should all support them as much as we can.

I couldn't agree with you more. I struggled with putting my personal comment because I felt anything I experienced could never compare to what they have been through.
